Rewrite Beautiful challenges stereotypical beauty through art. On a small scale, it is done through Street Art. On a large scale, it is done through Art Shows. Our Art Shows bring together a community of different artists who create different mediums of art inspired by the Rewrite Beautiful theme of CREATIVITY, KINDNESS and STRENGTH in girls and women. Rewrite Beautiful hosts its own Art Shows in Southern California and sell the art as a fundraiser.

We would also like to give you the opportunity to GET INVOLVED, fundraise for Rewrite Beautiful and spread the message by organizing an art show with your friends based on the same Rewrite Beautiful theme. Putting on a Rewrite Beautiful Art Show is way fun, empowering and a  lotta’ work. If think you’ve got the creativity, sweat to burn and are ready to rock,’ you need to do the following:

1. Gather people to help you (aka: friends, moms, dads, neighbors, teachers, your local barista and your unemployed neighbor who wants something fun and empowering to do with all that free time.)
2. Find artists who are willing to create (aka: students, teacher and your crazy aunt whose fingernails are always stained with paint.)
3. Secure a venue (aka: an art gallery, coffee shop, a school gym, a church, a warehouse, a backyard.)
4. Find snacks (aka: cookies and coffee- Kean is the best!)
5. Find some tunes (aka: a local band, your iPod, that kid who plays the guitar on the grassy knoll at lunch or Bill Callahan.)
