Rewrite Beautiful Street Art Workshops are a place where Rewrite Beautiful supporters can learn the Rewrite Beautiful vision, hear an eating disorder testimony, view our Photo Documentary and create Street Art which allows them to change how they see beauty in themselves. We must admit, it’s pretty awesome!

The workshop is unlike any other program around. It sparks a dialogue about the taboo topic of eating disorders that needs immediate attention, while simultaneously being creative and fun! If you are in the Southern California area you are welcome to come and Rewrite Beautiful with us at a FREE Street Art Workshop! We hold workshop bimonthly.

The Rewriters

Art Teacher, Sunny Siu M.F.A. – Sunny is an Art Professor from the Art Institute of San Bernardino.  Sunny collaborates with Founder and Creative Director, Irvina Kanarek and the Rewrite Beautiful team to come up with a workshop specifically detailed to the age, gender and background of the individuals in the workshop. Sunny serves on the Rewrite Beautiful Board of Directors and led five Rewrite Beautiful workshops in 2011. Currently Sunny is training Rewrite Beautiful volunteers how to step up and lead their own workshops.

Eating disorder testimony – Rewrite Beautiful currently works with several different eating disorder survivors. The women and men share their eating disorder story (at the discretion of age appropriateness for the audience). They tell their story in the format of, “what it was like, what it’s like now and what Rewrite Beautiful means to them.” The eating disorder testimony allows those who are currently suffering to know there is currently someone here they can talk to. The testimony also takes away the stigma and misconceptions those who do not struggle with an eating disorder may have towards those who do.
